Our Why
Community Confetti Initiative was founded from firsthand experience. Through years of serving and engaging with families in our community, Heather, Sabrina, and Shawna have witnessed a growing and deeply felt need among youth—especially during life’s special occasions.
Too many families are facing impossible choices between paying for basic necessities, like utilities, and providing a simple gift to celebrate their child. These moments, which should be filled with joy and affirmation, are often overshadowed by stress, lack, and hardship.
We believe that every child deserves to feel celebrated, valued, and remembered. By stepping in upstream, we aim to fill this gap—not as a handout, but as a hand up—offering support that restores dignity, strengthens families, and creates meaningful moments of joy.
Our work is also rooted in prevention. With Kentucky ranking among the top states in the nation for child abuse, we recognize that financial strain and unmet needs can contribute to environments of stress and instability. By meeting families where they are and providing tangible support, we strive to ease burdens, foster connection, and play a small but meaningful role in reducing risk factors.
At its core, our “why” is simple: when we invest in celebrating youth, we invest in stronger families, healthier communities, and a future where every child knows they matter.
